CGI is among the largest IT and business consulting services firms in the world. Operating across the globe, CGI delivers end-to-end capabilities, from business consulting to systems integration as well as IP development. This is also true for our team, CGI Space Netherlands. Around 70 Space IT engineers work in our own office in Rotterdam, but also providing onsite support across ground stations in Europe, such as ESTEC, Paris, Oberpfaffenhofen and Fucino.

CGI Space Netherlands activities can be divided in three teams: Galileo, Earth Observation and Satellite Navigation.

The Galileo team develops, maintains and secures complex and mission critical space applications. The 30 Galileo satellites fly by CGI’s control system and 200+ missions are supported by CGI’s software. In addition, we have carried out 10.000+ tests to evaluate Galileo’s security aspects.

The Earth Observation team develops algorithms using different sources space data, such as optical and radar images, to monitor clients area of interest and provide feedback to users. The tool is already being used to monitor the status of greenhouses, including heat leakages, light pollution and damage detection. It is also used to monitor water ways and detect blockages and overgrowth.

The Satellite Navigation team develops robust and secure positioning, navigation and timing algorithms based on Galileo satellite navigation signals. The service supports governmental bodies by providing more robust positioning solutions and preventing fraud.

The Space department is growing at a rapid pace. Therefore we are currently looking for new talent. Do you want to combine your space background with developing professional software, are you a born system engineer or do you know how to use AI to detect changes in Earth Observation images, then join us for an online chat at Discover your Space!
