While remote sensing from space provides a low cost, large scale earth observation capability, it is still limited by factors such as spatial resolution, temporal resolution and most importantly, the limitation to the electromagnetic spectrum.
Aardvark Sensing is creating a new pillar in earth-observation which allows extending these sensing capabilities with a plethora of proximal sensors like moisture, magnetic, conductivity, active spectroscopy, gas sensors and ground penetrating radar. We use our low-cost autonomous robots in combination with various sensors to maps areas to the greatest resolution with new properties of the soil that are far beyond the reach of remote sensing
