Celestia-STS

Celestia-STS (C-STS) provides ground-based solutions in the domains of satellite simulation, testing, communication, and data processing.

Established in 1985 as Satellite Services B.V. (SSBV) in 2016 has been acquired by Celestia Technologies Group and re-branded to Celestia Satellite Test & Simulation B.V.  to continue as competence centre for Electrical Ground Support Equipment (EGSE) and TT&C solutions.

C-STS has provided the European and international space industry with modems and electrical ground support equipment for over three decades. C-STS’ systems are used everywhere from the Galileo ground stations to the testing facilities for the various ESA Copernicus satellites. Having contributed to over 80% of ESA missions, C-STS has earned an outstanding reputation in the space sector, delivering flexible and high-quality engineering, and products.

EGSE are tools used by satellite and sub-system manufacturers and integrators to test and validate electrical functions of the satellite on the ground before launch. EGSE consists of hardware and/or software elements that perform satellite testing, by simulating the interfaces of missing (sub-)systems to assure full compatibility once integrated within the overall platform. This includes both satellite onboard elements as well as external elements related to communications.

C-STS  testing equipment is available in standard functionality or configured to meet specific customer needs. Typically equipment is used either in clean room AIT environments or in ground stations.

As data communication evolves, so does C-STS. With the onset of optical communications for S2G and ISL, a whole new range of products is needed, both for testing and for use in optical ground stations (OGS).

C-STS has a strong customer base, having delivered many systems to a variety of leading companies and institutions within the space industry including the European Space Agency (ESA), Airbus Defence and Space (ADS), Thales Alenia Space (TAS), OHB System (OHB), Surrey Satellite Technology Ltd. (SSTL) and many others.
